About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Laughing as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I've actually been using couchsurfing for a couple of years through my boyfriends (Nicola Tadini) profile, but I finally (I am lazy as hell) decided to make my own.
I am a relaxed, fun (if I may say so) and loving person. I like to party as much as I like doing nothing. As everybody else here: I love travelling and meeting strangers.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life one day at a time (literally). It can create problems, but I like it so much.
I am happy (most of the time), an optimist and believe in the good in people (I am such a happy-go-lucky person).
I pretty much live by the philosophy: "Treat others the way you want them to treat you" which have given me a lot of good (very different) friends and no enemies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Both hosting and surfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I never had a bad experience, though they were all different - from just a couch to partying three nights in a row with hosts and other surfers in Porto to staying with a whole family of ten in Morocco while beeing pampered like a princess.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read!!! I read as much as five books a week. Right now I am reading the Discworld serie. I just love the way they make you laugh out loud all the time (even when you are surrounded by strangers in a bus or train.)
I will pretty much read anything - even though I do prefer good books...

I haven't had a tv since I moved out of my parents at age 18 and then I found out that people really talk a lot about commercials... It scared me a bit so I kept on not having a tv.

Even though I don't have a tv I watch a lot of movies. My all time favourite is "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" or pretty much anything with transvestites in it. (I really can't explain that - it just happened and I went along.)
I watch other movies as well - no worries.
I also have to mention series I like (a lot!):
- Black Books (I must have seen the episodes ten times each)
- The Office (british version) (I didn't know whether to cry or laugh and I just had to watch the next episode at once)
- Extras (again with Ricky Gervais - he has my kind of humour)
- Flight of the Conchords (about a so, so band doing weird things)
- The It Crowd (geeks in a basement - brilliant)
- Weeds (a housemom selling wed)
- Spaced (a man with no future and his equally weird roommate)
- 30 rock (a bunch of writers and other weirdoes)
All and all: I just really like black humour, irony and sarcasm - "the blacker the better"

I just have to mention the Stand-up I like too (much in the same spirit as the series I like):
- Eddie Izzard (the perfect combination: Transvestite and black humour. Funny as hell)
- Ricky Gervais (the crying and laughing again)
- Bill Bailey (a hippie mumbling and taking the crap out of everything and sometimes even with instruments (like the zebra-song) - from Black Books)
- Dylan Moran (again from Black Books - grumpy and Irish: "I don't like young people. They are icky and they run too fast")

Then there is music:
I love that too. Too much loving - I know.
I am as such a rock-chick, but I will listen to anything that's not pop (like Britney and her likes), heavy (when they growl) and techno/house and all with equally annoying rythms (I know - a music-fascist - but then again so are everybody that loves music...)
Right now I listen to:
- Queens of the Stone Age
- Beatles (they never go old)
- The Doors
- Elvis Presley (his songs that rock)
- The Flaming Lips
- Gogol Bordello
- Janis Joplin
- jack Johnson (for the mornings filled with sun where you have to do absolutely nothing)
- Johnny Cash
- Leonard Cohen
- Mardi Gras BB
- Black Eyed Peas (for my bootyshaking nights)
- and so on (there are too many - I am giving up - no more listing things)
