About Me
Hello 🙂 I'm Joe from the UK, currently travelling as much as I can! I've been travelling and hitchhiking for around two years. Current destinations (Sept - Dec 2018) are hitchhiking, couchsurfing and camping in Western USA (Northern California, Oregon) then 2 months in NE Europe (Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden). Then I'll be off to New Zealand next year!
At home I'm working towards running a woodland project to use the calm and ease of working in nature to engage local communities, train young people in sustainable construction and living, and, of course, have a communal space for parties! Bassline in the woods anyone? Throw in a fire, some food and some friends and you've got an evening to be proud of :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was at home I would organise CS meets in the local area to bring travellers and locals together.
I'm current travelling. When I'm back I'm sure you can stay round my place (when I get one) and we'll chat, dance, smoke, cycle, crawl, fight or whatever you feel like at the time!
I've been involved with CS since 2009 and it's been great! I've had a few people stay with us in Sheffield and in Aviemore, Scotland and they've all been really good experiences! I've got involved with the local CS community and met lots of amazing people and good friends for drinks and dancing :D
Interests
I'm really into music!
I love cooking and eating. Learning. Nature and being outdoors. Film. Books. Playing guitar. Climbing.
I read a little about philosophy, psychology, the mind.
I love adding to life through love and compassion.
I'm a firm believer in honesty and would love to understand more about people and the world.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm listening to lots of music at the moment but mainly reggae (roots, ska, rocksteady), hiphop, dub, folk, electronic, drum and bass, African soul and blues. :)
Been to lots of festivals and love the travelling community.

Favorite films are The Big Lebowski, Pan's Labyrinth, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, In Bruges
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning to ride motorbikes in Nepal under the Himalayas. Swimming shark infested waters (when I can't swim). Living in many beautiful communities through WorkAway and HelpX. Helping to build a small festival camp with some beautiful people in the Australian outback. Getting to know my friends. And hopefully getting to know you ;) haha. Nice to meet ya!
