Hi, I'm Johann, I'm French and I'm 35 (2022). I discovered couchsurfing when travelling in the US for the winterbreak of my studying year abroad back in 2010.
Now in 2022, I've been a psychologist for the past 7 years near the French Alps and now I'm starting a new life of travel and adventure centered around windsurfing kitesurfing and sailing, while making friends among local people and learning their languages.

As a member of CS, I've couchsurfed in Austin, Houston, Santa Fe and San Francisco. I also couchsurfed on the US East cost in May 2011 (DC, Boston, NYC). In summer 2013, I was in thailand and I couchsurfed at 4 people's place in 3 different cities.
I've also hosted few people in my tiny studio when I was attending my master degree in Lille. Since then I've been living with other people so it was more complicated, we've done it a few time though.

I prefer my journeys to be about interacting with local people, not so much to visit classical touristic places. So this community is perfect for what I expect from my next journeys. I also love that it enables us to visit a new country without needing a lot of money to spend.

All my CS experiences were positive. Sometimes personalities don't fit perfectly, sometimes we can annoy each other, but all the people I've met were worth of trust, willling to help and have a good time.

Los Angeles to Austin by bus , I think it took 36 hours almost non stop.
Sleeping in a buddhist temple to attend Phi ta khon festival in Thailand ! Because I have been nice back to them their chief told I could become a monk among them, they even wrote my name to remember haha.
