About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting like minded people interested in sustainability, laughing,

ABOUT ME

I love the outdoors. I am passionate about paddling, climbing, hiking and most things that are fun and physical. That said I find much joy in both yoga and meditation. As I walk through this life I strive to do so with greater awareness, gratitude and compassion.
I love life, I love to learn and to share my experiences and skills with like-minded people.
Life is pretty busy. I have my kids part-time and a wonderful husband. Cumberland is an awesome town and we are all stoked to be living here.

PHILOSOPHY

The trick to life is to live it to its full potential whilst respecting everyone and everything around you. The majority of our personal suffering is self-created. We have been blessed with the ability to chose how we react to any given situation: look up or look down. I chose to look up, to admit and learn from my mistakes. I strive to flush my ego down the toilet when it gets in my way of making positive change. No DRAMA..BE HONEST! And be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In order to create a healthy global community we need to learn about one another. In opening our doors and our minds to others, we encourage the development of tolerance, a practice that is essential in our time. In addition, it is fun to meet new and different people. Every interaction is precious and wonderful regardless of the outcome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been surfing and sharing couches since 2006. I have been an active members with WWOOF and have travelled extensively. I have also hosted exchange students and other travellers. I really enjoy sharing experiences with others over food, a splendid hike or a good pint of beer.
The only request I make of anyone whom I host is that you are choosing to stay with me because of SIMILAR INTERSTS and you feel that a positive and rewarding exchange can be made. I guarantee that I will be the best hostess I can be and in turn expect that you be the same as a guest.

Lastly, be a GOOD GUEST. It is surprising how many people have left my home without demonstrating any true appreciation for their stay. ( I have reread this and am trying to think of how to word this in a kinder manner. I guess I want to feel like a mutual exchange is happening and that I am not simply a place to crash.) CouchSurfing is all about COMMUNITY and it is an EXCHANGE (and I am not talking $$$) . I have been hosting for quite awhile and it is only until now (April 2010) that I have written this last blurb because I figure that the return of kindness should be inherent. This is not meant to be a rant. I am just expressing a general frustration that I have been experiencing.
