Overview
About Me
I'm a soccer coach, Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician, and an Explorer for the Outbound Collective (www.theoutbound.com). I have a blog called That Solitary Path (www.theruggedtrail.com) that I use to chronicle my adventures.
I love traveling and seeing the world. My favorite travel destinations so far have been South Africa and India.
For those who host me, know that I live simply, I'm quiet but not shy, and I am friendly to everyone.
My life's motto is to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm pretty new to couchsurfing (at least to the website - I've "couchsurfed" many times with pals of mine from university), but I love meeting new people and learning different cultures.
Interests
I love everything outdoors - climbing, hiking, backcountry bushwacks into remote places, etc. I also have a passion for soccer and have coached for the past 4 years all around the world - from the USA to South Africa to Iraq/Kurdistan! I also love to run, and used to be an NCAA Division 1 cross country runner at Oral Roberts University. I love to write too!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to some music, but I enjoy all (unless it's super loud or crude). Music I listen to tends to be in whatever season of life I'm in, but currently is like M83, Explosions in the Sky, Volcano Choir, JGivens, and Bethel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I led a climbing expedition into the backcountry of the North Cascades for ten days, of which 9 days were spent without seeing a single other person (but we did see a bear!).
Teach, Learn, Share
I've taught English in South Africa, coached soccer (as previously mentioned), and I love to learn. I always go into other countries with the attitude of a learner, and I believe that is why I love traveling so much.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My beliefs, values, and experience. I can sketch a little (but it's pretty rough) as well as blog (a lot)
