Overview
About Me
Hey,
I'm John. I'm from the Midwest but moved to New York City to go to school, and decided to stick around. I work freelance for a few production companies, and I'm starting my own Podcast/Web Series Network. I'm love making music and films, and I love traveling, although this coming month will really be the first time I've left the U.S.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” -Mark Twain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Backpacking across Europe for the next month, and I think the best way to experience a new place is with the people who live there.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Van Morrison, The Frames, Mumford and Sons, and the like.
Movies: Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Jurassic Park, anything Gus Van Sant or Scorsese.
Books: The Great Gatsby, The Book Thief, As I Lay Dying, I Am The Messenger.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to almost all 50 states. (I haven't seen Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, or Rhode Island.)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach music lessons (I play around 10 instruments), I know random trivia facts, and I can always share a story or two.
What I Can Share with Hosts
There are thousands of ways to see New York based on what you like to do. But it's always more fun to experience it with someone else, and I can share my enthusiasm and whatever experience I have.
