CURRENT MISSION

See the world outside California, as I have time from work. If I can't get out there to see it, I'll have it come to me! :)
I would like to see other cities and countries the way the locals see them. Monuments and stuff are nice, but once you've been there and seen that, that's it. I'd prefer to see how people actually live.

ABOUT ME

I'm open-minded and always willing to try new things. I'm the sort of person who doesn't say a whole lot unless I've got something worth saying. I live quietly but that doesn't mean I don't like to go out and have fun once in a while.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very familiar with Orange County and Los Angeles, and would enjoy taking people around town. I don't have my own couch at the moment, sadly, but once I do I intend to share it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I’ve made a few friends, mostly as a host/guide on the LA - Las Vegas - Grand Canyon circuit. I've had the chance to spend a summer in the south of France with a French pen pal, and when I was younger my family hosted exchange students.

In movies, whatever strikes my fancy, really. Nothing that takes itself too seriously.

For music, my tastes are pretty eclectic. Alternative rock, a little ska/punk, electronic. It's kind of whatever I'm in the mood for on a given day.

My favorite books are sci-fi/fantasy, like Tolkien and the wizards of the coast books (neeeerd...) I also enjoy technothrillers. Michael Crichton and Clive Cussler...

I can teach English, U.S. history, how to build and fix your own computer, some tricks for navigating U.S. airport security, how to cook some tasty things. Ask me anything. I'd like to learn more about other parts of the world, I'm currently trying to improve my French, and I'd like to learn more languages eventually.
