Hi! I'm a journalism and philosophy student who enjoys playing music, swimming, reading and the outdoors. I am easy to get along with, and am happy to share stories.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing for two reasons: 1) to surf couches, (but I also surf floors!) 2) to meet genuine people in unfamiliar cities who are open to hosting and getting to know travelers. I am taking the semester off of school and will be traveling around Europe, and am hoping to gain the best experience possible by getting to know some locals in the different cities I visit.

The past year I've been focused on becoming a better journalist, and covered various art and culture events in Los Angeles. In my spare time I went rock climbing, listened to rock music in its various forms, and read a fair amount fiction novels. I used to be a collegiate water polo player, and a high school swimmer as well. I also stay current on world affairs and try and keep an unbiased view on American Politics.

A few of my favorite bands: The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, R.E.M., Talking Heads.. etc. I listen to some hip-hop and pop music as well.

A few of my favorite books: The Harry Potter Series; The Martian Chronicles, by Ray Bradbury; Stoner, by John Williams; Freedom, by Jonathan Franzen; The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger; and, East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

A few of my favorite movies: Little Miss Sunshine, Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, Finding Nemo and School of Rock.

In 2011 I took a cross-country road trip from Los Angeles, California to New York, New York and spent 2012 New Year's Eve on Times Square watching the ball drop. Also, I somehow met actor Samuel L. Jackson in New York and gave him a fist-bump. (Which is like a high-five with your fist).
