Hello, I am a 54 year old, very young at heart ,with a young outlook on life and a taste for adventure.Ive been working in the prison service for 28 years mainly as a Physical education instructor.
I have already travelled quite extensively throughout my life, and visited many counties.I am a single man with grown up children, who themselves have spent several periods of time travelling far and wide. I am now at a time in life where I now want to travel more and meet new and interesting people, and share some of my experiences and learn of other peoples experiences. I have recently completed a TEFL teaching certificate, and have moved to Vietnam. I have been in Vietnam now for the past 20 months teaching english and also doing some sports coaching.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Im have joined couch surfing mainly at the moment because I have a long term burning ambition to travel the world, i wanted to chat to other who may have done it, and gain an insight into things which may help me.
Also I live in what I believe to be one of the most exciting cities in the world (Liverpool) and although Im not in a position at the moment to host with a room, I am always prepared to help show people around my city, and have a coffee or drink whenever possible. This now applies to my new city Hanoi.

兴趣

HI, I have several interests ,the main ones being Motorcycles ,I own a KTM 1290 super duke r .My other main interest is climbing. I enjoy several different types of climbing ,but mainly trad rock, and ice climbing .I also enjoy playing Table Tennis.
I have a keen interest in learning to speak Spanish and recently started taking lessons after having originally studying the language at school many years ago. I keep myself physically fit on a daily basis, and have a strong love of the outdoors. I also love nothing better than a good old debate on anything from Aliens to sport to is there Life after death , or in fact any other subject, its a great way to pass an evening with people over a few drinks.I am a non smoker and a non drug taker, but do have a drink.

my music taste is very wide and varied, I enjoy most types of music depending on my mood, and will listen to everything from Country to heavy rock. I am really into Movies and watch them as often as possible.One of my favourite movies is The devils advocate, starring AL Pacino.
As for books I wouldn't consider myself a big reader, in fact very seldom read books at all, however one book I did read and would recommend to anyone is a book called SHANTARAM by gregory david roberts, this book has had some influence on how I feel about my life at the current time.

I don't consider this to be amazing , but it was very enjoyable and very satisfying and help raise some much needed money for a local childrens hospice, but I have ridden from Lands End to John O Groats twice now on a bicycle once over 10 days and once over 7 days,both times a distance of over 874 miles at least.

Not sure what I can teach people, but would be willing to help any non English speakers where possible with the language.I would love to improve my Spanish\Vietnamese.
As for sharing, Its what life is all about sharing life experiences with others and using those experiences to help yourself be a better person.Thats where I am at the moment Im trying to be the best person I can be. Its difficult at times.
