Am a curious traveller who wants to see the world on a shoestring.
Very friendly person with a awkward sense of good natured humour.
Quality and affordable food is my weak spot. Love all types of cuisine Chinese, malay, Indian, perankan, Spanish , French, arabic, vegetarian
Favourite asian delights: oyster omelette, hokkien prawn mee, charcoal BBQ chicken wings, frog porridge, herbal mutton soup, papaya salad.
I take food seriously and am a meat lover. I have no food restrictions except for virus infested💩. I eat whatever locals eat. I havent suffered a fatal food poisoning before but the worst case of diarrhea took me 3 weeks to recover from.
I am the least fussy person you ever find and have served 2 Years of military conscription. Everywhere is a cosy shelter. But I am very conscious about personal cleanliness and the cleanliness of my host's place. I stand out for looking too thin and mistaken for an ascetic or even a vegan.
Knows Singapore like a children's book. Especially places to visit. Have travelled to every corner of Singapore including it's islands and neighbouring Malaysia's Johor bahru. Many Singaporeans say they know singapore well, truth is they have they might still need to verify with people like me. From geylang, geylang serai, east coast, old airport, kampong glam, touristy marina bay, raffles quay area, CBD, orchard, tanglin, River valley, Chinatown, little India, serangoon, Jalan besar, whampoa, Sentosa, jurong, too chu Kang, yishun, choa chu Kang, Lim chu Kang, pasir ris. From little Myanmar, little Phillipines, little Vietnam, little thailand to little China. Please allow me to show you the way. I could recommend u various trekking routes and cycling routes that will take you around Singapore. If time allows I could even drive you around Singapore or up to Malaysia.
Style of travelling: Quick planning, extremely flexible and simple packing - 2 t-shirts, 1 shorts, a towel, earphones, inflatable neck rest, blindfold, powerbank, sleeping bag, drugs for common ailments and emergencies and brightly coloured 3 piece underwear set for easy visibility. So they will not be left behind.
Have strong cheapskate asian instinct in getting a good deal. I like to visit trade and food fairs and ask for free samples or buy things at a big discount provided it can fit into my bagpack. I once bought a large standing fan and bicycle at a fair for my host because it was cheap.
Interest in electric transportation. Used to own 8 electric bicycles scooters and skateboards. Also have bicycles.
Also a fan of the 4-hour work week where I believe in early financial freedom, keeping expenses to a minimum and vagabonding. Have also been been giving/ selling my belongings and have not bought clothes in the last 6 years.
Studied accounting but didnt finish degree. While i was younger i always wanted to make enough money so that i can see the world. But I think its much easier to see the world first and then figure out a way to make money along the way. Plan to travel long term, master a trade using the internet and start a small ecommerce operation. want to see most of world before 30.
Love learning about new cultures, places and challenging my own stereotypes and biases about different races, cultures, religions. And about how locals live. I partcipate in English learning events overseas a lot and occasionally teach English for free accommodation/food.
I try to be a travel hacker to save money; I am knowledgeable about art of free entrance to ticketed events, attractions, local events, local weddings. Have participated in F1 racing events, football matches, countdown parties, amusement parks, exhibitions, conferences, local weddings, hunting trips, religious gatherings and ridiculously priced tourist attractions. However I never save on affordably priced food and that is usually my biggest daily expenditure.
Enjoy discussing about budget travel (like extreme stories and dangerous encounters), the economy, sports and discussing anything I am not qualified to comment on.
