About Me

I'm a 25 year old American from the Chicago area. I've been working seasonal jobs out in national parks and ski resorts for the past 3 years, travelling when I can between jobs, more often than not on a bicycle. Some of the places I've worked at are Olympic National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Sun Valley Resort in Idaho.
I've completed two long distance bike tours, and am planning my next one for this April and May. My first from Vancouver to San Diego on the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route during the fall of 2016, and my most recent on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route from Montana to New Mexico during the fall of 2018. Next up I'm thinking something along the lines of Reno to Flagstaff, checking out Death Valley along the way, and sticking to dirt roads and trails as much as I can.
I've only ever been hosted on Couchsurfing, but one day I'd really like to start hosting once I have a place of my own. I've enjoyed meeting so many people, and I'd love to give back for all the generosity I've received from them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think when we pursue alternative means of travel, as opposed to the traditional route of hotel reservations, plane tickets, and taxi cabs, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. I see Couchsurfing as one of these alternative avenues. It allows one to meet people, have experiences, and learn things that we otherwise wouldn't of been able to if we chose a more traditional route.
