About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Road trip to Denver, find work and a place in Denver, talk with a special girl

ABOUT ME

Moving to Denver and asking for help, I have found my work in Michigan for Veterans with PTSd and getting safe access to MMJ to be a liability in Washington DC. I have been couch surfing for almost a year trying to find work as an activist, without joy.

For now putting activism second to finding real work in the Denver/Boulder area. As a nine year navy vet I has access to federal grant money for housing, the SSVF program.

My first mission in Denver to stop in at both locations in Denver,

Rocky Mountain Human Services
10375 E. Harvard Ave. Suite 400
Denver, CO 80231

and

Volunteers of America
2660 Larimer Street
Denver, CO 80205

Really hoping to find work in the MMJ field and bring my CBD rich plants to Colorado, see grow op web page at Wacanga.com

And for good measure my cover letter :) enjoy and thank you, Johnny

After high-school I joined the Navy hoping to change the world and do some good, I was naïve and young, it did not quite work out. I did receive valuable training, developed a strong work ethic and management, leadership skills during my 9 years. I was able to be stationed in southern Spain (Rota) for 2 1/2 years and during that time I immersed myself in the culture. This was a wonderful life-changing experience.

After the Navy I was able to parlay my technical training into a reasonably fulfilling career in the semiconductor industry as a customer service engineer and a shift supervisor, production environment. During his 14 year career I enjoyed traveling the world providing technical customer support, training and after sales to international customers from a extremely large and diverse cultural background. I was very good at this, unfortunately it fell apart when the market collapsed in 2008. After exhausting all other options for employment I decided to move to Colorado in 2010 try my own entrepreneurial skills and take advantage of the “Green Rush” medical marijuana.

After mastering the skills needed to create a quality product and establishing business relationships, trust with dispensary owners I was regulated out of the business. Residency requirement, Dept. of taxation decided 15 December 2009 was the date required to establish residency to participate in the medical marijuana field. Unfortunately lease for my grow operation was January 1, 2000. Forced out of the business by government regulation I made the decision to move to Michigan to restart the operation.

After being regulated out of the business in Colorado I decided to become politically active in the Michigan. In Michigan I experienced success as a grower, developing a CBD rich THC free strain of medical cannabis. I also discovered a unknown talent of activism. I was successful in changing government policy at both the state and local levels. State level it took me three years but I was successful having Post Traumatic Stress (PTSd) added as a qualifying condition. Local level I was the campaign manager for a voter initiative to change the city charter as to make the possession of small amounts “ lowest law enforcement priority” it passed with 74%.

The rewards of my success in activism included opportunities to speak publicly at many town hall meetings in southeast Michigan and on the larger scale in front of 3000 at Hash Bash 2013. law-enforcement, attorney general for the state of Michigan was not pleased with this activism. After witnessing friends being targeted and unjustly charged, I sensed I was next. I quit the medical marijuana industry moved back home to Washington DC and decided I would change the world as an activist.

Received fundraising and organizing skills from Clean Water Action. I have been able to apply these skills successfully to my own 501(c)19 veteran support group and as a major contributor to the DC cannabis campaign.

I am still looking to make a difference, change the world make it a better place for those who follow. If given an opportunity I will exceed all expectations. Thank you, John Evans

PHILOSOPHY

I do not believe in "Problems" just temporally unknown solutions.

Key to success as a activist, Empathy, Righteousness, and Persistence.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot nothing is going to get better. It's not.
