ABOUT ME

We are an easy going, open minded couple that are from Auckland, New Zealand. We enjoy meeting other adventurous people and maybe more than ever have a far more relaxed approach towards life. We left New Zealand in 2012 and have been travelling long term since then, stopping for a year in Beijing and another year in Madrid. Although we love exploring new places, travelling on the road for years is tiring and we've probably become slightly disconnected from society. So for now we are settling down for a few years in Amsterdam and settling up a little home base!

PHILOSOPHY

We both believe in healthy living, we run short marathons for fun and have a Sunday cycle session. We try to be active everyday and eat well- in particular we really enjoy eating vegetarian foods (for their flavour) and new real food cuisine.
We LOVE the outdoors, hiking is our favourite hobby and the ocean runs through our veins. We DO NOT smoke and due to health reasons can not accept recreational or committed smokers. We think life begins when you can take your shoes off and play and the best afternoon (if not outside) would be relaxing with delicious wine....soft cheese and friends.

We believe couch surfing is not just about getting a free nights stay on a couch but interacting openly and learning off each other and taking the opportunity to share a bit about yourself. We have been very lucky to have met some wonderful people but we will decline requests that do not include basic niceties and those that have not read our profile. We warmly welcome long-term travellers! Foodies! Travellers trying to make a difference in the world and feminists!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We started couch surfing in 2013 and have couch surfed in Australia, India, Malaysia, Belgium, Ireland and Japan. Hosting people in New Zealand, China.... and Spain. During our travels we have met amazing people and without them would have ended up in hospital, starving or homeless!

We are both qualified English teachers (English as a second language). We are more than happy to help you with your English (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary) during our stay in your country, city or home! So don't let English be a barrier for you! As said already, we love meeting people so would be happy to do an English lesson in exchange for meeting some locals!
