ABOUT ME

I'm a student in Norwich, studying the rather unusual combination of Law with French Law and Language. It's a great course, but coursework deadline week is stressful! I'm a classic busy person, I volunteer for things then somehow find time to do them; I sometimes wonder how I find time to breathe. I've done some pretty random things before, including making a miniature boat out of four sticks, two bin-bags, a roll of Sellotape and a sheet of A4. In the past I've worked in a shop, in a French hotel, and as a Domino's driver.

PHILOSOPHY

Pay people forward, not back; if a stranger does you a good deed, it's impossible to pay that back. Instead, pay it forward - do a good deed for another stranger. Hopefully, one day, they will see a stranger in need of a good deed, and will pass it forward.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I don't currently have a spare room, I'm just here to meet locally or to find a possible place to rest my head when on travels. If/when I have more space, then the welcome mat will be rolled out in full!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet - only just joined! Hopefully the summer will bring a chance to explore...

兴趣

I have more books than space for them, to the point where I always have at least one box or suitcase full of books because I can't physically get them on the shelves! I do enjoy a good game of chess from time to time, or some Angry Birds. I go climbing when I can, but I'm seriously out of practice at the moment.

Where to start? Ben Elton; Lee Child and the Jack Reacher books; Chris Ryan; John Grisham; Dan Brown; I'll read almost anything. Films, I do like a good comedy, probably an action, can put up with a rom-com so long as there's enough com, not a massive horror fan, and chick flicks are generally not exactly my cup of tea.

I've been to geothermally active parts of New Zealand, with the colourful pools and the bubbling mud, and on Hot Water Beach where geothermally heated water naturally comes out of the ground and runs down the beach to the sea, literally letting off steam. I've also been on some of the greatest rollercoasters in Britain, but not all of them yet - it's on the to-do list!

I know random, wacky, pointless facts that will never come in handy unless I find myself on QI. For example, did you know that a Dane was the first European to discover Alaska? He was working with the Russian navy at the time. They named the bit of water between Alaska and Kamchatka after him - chap named Vitus Bering. Do the Bering Strait or the Bering Sea ring any bells? That's the guy.
