HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted and been hosted. Hope to surf some more soon and I've just moved to Weihai and I have a spare room.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used the site a while back and now I've got a new apartment with a spare room I can open it up to anyone interested in crashing for a night or two.

兴趣

I have played the bagpipes, a traditional Scottish instrument since I was 14 years old. Unfortunately I don't have them with me in China so I can not practice how I would like to. But if you watch me carefully, from time to time I continue to play with my fingers at times when I am idle!

I love getting out and about in the fresh air. I really enjoy hiking around scenic areas and hope to climb a couple of mountains and a volcano in the near future.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The first time I competed at the World Pipe Band competition in Glasgow, Scotland. To see 5000 pipers and drummers competing for the top prize and the weather to be so fine, was an amazing experience for me.

Riding the trans-manchurian line from Moscow to Beijing was an incredible experience. I shared many a vodka with the locals and got my first real experience of how to communicate with people and not speak the same language.

Chinese New Year in the hutongs in Beijing. Midnight especially was such a magical experience and one I will never forget.
