ABOUT ME

I grew up in a rural area that is a bit isolated from the rest of the country. When I got older and had to the city for all kinds of business, and always had to leave early in the evening to get the last train home. Or sometimes, or spend the night somewhere so I could get to the airport early enough for my flight. I would rely on friends or strangers I met during the day/evening to help me, which always worked out.

Now that I live in The Hague I want to return the favor to anybody in need of a place to sleep.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people the way you want to be treated.

There is much you cannot control, but you can always choose to be a decent human being.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to be active in the local Couchsurfing activities in The Hague, but not so much anymore.

I like to visit people I hosted, whether it is one week later or 3 years; I will find you, come to your house and sleep on your couch!

I try to write creative and entertaining references because they are often quite boring to read.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have joined couchsurfing since the beginning of 2010 and hosted dozens of people in The Hague over the summer then, attended and organized many events and share a house with two other couchsurfers.

I went Fort Exploring in France once, there I learned that sleeping on the floor is not the best idea ever!

In October 2010 I traveled around Eastern Europe by train and bus for 3 weeks and visited many old friends and surfed with many people who I previously hosted.

At the moment I am in interested in bicycles.

Yes a lot! But I don't really believe a list of media consumed says anything meaningful about someone's personality. Even if you have a horrible taste I still want to meet you!
