About Me

CURRENT MISSION

nomadism, till i find somewhere good to be, then maybe some more

ABOUT ME

from glasgow but prefer not to be where i'm from, though it's a beloved place. in the last few years i've been travelling, living, working, studying elsewhere, turin, paris, berlin, sweden, london, and i want to keep going and gathering, reading and writing, maybe at some point the notion'll come to stop for a while, we'll see. one of the aspects of philosophy i'm interested in is the idea of the future as an affective vector of the present, and that's how i try to line things up.

PHILOSOPHY

there's this notion of a daring freedom, to dare to be free, i always come back to that. to never stop seeking out all the bullshit burdens around, all the commitments you're supposed to buy into, all the useless atrophy. to be driven by the exigency of life alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i've been hosted quite a few times now, though never hosted, at least not through CS - i mean i've hosted plenty of people over the years, strangers, friends of friends. suppose that's because i'm often moving around and circumstances don't always allow me to say that i've got a couch for sure. in short, i'm always worth trying.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

first started it around three years ago and have since stayed with people in hungary, serbia, bulgaria, greece, italy, ireland...never a bad, or at least wasted, experience, and apart from being always enthused by the amazing variety of people you don't yet know, and the amazing variety of ways in which you don't yet know you can relate to people, it's really interesting how you figure out along the way a kind of practice, the host-guest dynamics, trying to adapt to different people and come up with an affirmative composition between you, enlivening the place you're visiting, the place you stay, the place you're from.

Interests

skies that blister and growl all the colours and clouds, seas that scare you shitless then blissful, what yeast does, that point of the day when everything folds in and out of itself and starts towards tomorrow, the thought of marinades (and then the smoke and sizzle), wandering till purpose evaporates and then you begin, music and thinking that soar and dance and leave you giddy with affirmation, compost heaps (true wonder machines of the universe), language in allen ginsberg's mouth, the henry miller effect...

having trouble peeling ginger? chopping off to much of the flesh with that knife? use the edge of a teaspoon.
