Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

Too many to choose from but one pops out that is related to CS. In a way.

I was motorbiking with two fellow travelers in South Laos. The evening was approaching and we were looking for a village where we knew, was one accommodation option. We were really in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately we missed that village (no signs anywhere and let's be honest - too much fun motorbikes!) and by the time we realized what had happened, we were already about 30min bike ride past it.

So we pulled over in a teeny-tiny village, made up of around 20 buildings, at sunset. We saw a bunch of young locals hanging in the center of the town, smoking "magical herbs" and as soon as they saw us, the approached. None of them spoke a word in English and on top of that we got a weird vibe from them and frankly had no idea how it all would end.

It was pitch black (no Moon either) and no chance to ride off, as our headlights pulled bugs like the crazy and we had them in our eyes and mouths :/ not nice. Not nice at all.

After what seemed like forever, one more local approached us and to our luck, he spoke some English! Woo-hoo! After we had explained our situation, he asked us to come in and join his family for dinner and stay for the night.

After the rest of the locals understood what was going on, they all become our new best friends! We had lots of fun, shared stories, had a simple yet authentic and delicious dinner, met the family of 30-40ppl (all living under the same roof), went skinny dipping at midnight with just the our phones lighting our path.
