I may not have couchsurfed officially many times, but I have experienced the beautiful bond created from one person experiencing selfless generosity from another stranger, and that stranger's experience of selflessly giving kindness to the world. I'm on couchsurfing because I think it's a more authentic way to see places and get to know the culture and people of an area than staying in hostels. It can also help to prolong a trip.

I went to Costa Rica knowing no one, went to a random small village where no one could speak English and found a family to live with the first night. I then learned Spanish after staying with them for over two months.
