About Me
⚡️ Home Swap?
Hey! If you’d like to visit Coyhaique in Chilean Patagonia, we’re happy to offer a private and cozy place. In exchange, we’d love to stay at your place for a few days. Let’s trade homes instead of just couches! 🌎
Hi! I’m Johnny, a Colombian researcher and IT specialist now living in the heart of Chilean Patagonia with my husband Juan, who works in healthcare. We’re a couple who truly loves life—especially when it comes to meaningful conversations, music, nature, and discovering hidden, peaceful places.
I’m passionate about science, technology, and sharing perspectives with people from all over the world. Hosting or meeting others over a cup of wine is one of my favorite ways to connect.
We’ve lived through amazing adventures, from stunning landscapes to unforgettable sunsets, and we’re always open to more. Couchsurfing, for us, is about cultural exchange, friendship, and making the world feel smaller through human connection.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of human connection, cultural exchange, and the kindness of strangers. It’s a beautiful way to share stories, learn from others, and create meaningful memories beyond borders.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a wide range of music—from classical piano and cello pieces to contemporary bands like Coldplay. I also appreciate the depth of opera and the calm of chill-out music, especially when unwinding after a long day.
When it comes to books, I’m drawn to thought-provoking titles like The Transparency Society, The Brain and the Myth of the Self, and works by Stephen Hawking or Isaac Asimov.
Some of my favorite series include Dark, Severance, and Silo—I love stories that challenge perception and explore complex realities.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once led a scientific project that brought together researchers, local communities, and advanced satellite technology to protect remote ecosystems in Patagonia. Standing in the middle of untouched landscapes, using data and innovation to support sustainable decisions, made me realize how powerful collaboration and science can be in shaping a better future.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about systems thinking, technology, and how we use data and satellite images to understand the environment. I’m always eager to learn about local traditions, languages, and ways of living. I love sharing music, meaningful conversations, and stories from the southernmost corners of the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer good conversation, a warm and respectful presence, and a deep curiosity for local culture and daily life. I’m happy to share stories about life in Patagonia, cook a meal together, or help with tech-related questions. Above all, I bring a genuine interest in learning and connecting.
