ABOUT ME

Traveller. Linguist. I am concerned with endangered languages and want to help to study and to document them before they vanish. I'm also a musician. I like taking a walk, talking in the kitchen and reading a good book.

PHILOSOPHY

Identity is a strange concept. I believe that the place where you live and the people you meet everyday are part of your personality. That means also, that all people you have met in your whole life and all places you have been are part of your identity. Sometimes it appears to me as being a slightly different person when speaking another language or being with people, which I have met somewhere else.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people, to travel and to make friends with strangers. I also like the idea to host someone I do not know and to show my place - which is at the moment Berlin. I am interested in stories, places and people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lot of my friends left Berlin for some time or for ever. I started to visit them in their new homes and so the idea of couch surfing grew naturally. Then I made friends with other people who left their home townes - and then I started to visit them in their old homes. And then I went to Japan and the Netherlands, making my first Couch Surfing experience. Later I left Berlin and the story continues. Feels like I'm travelling now for years,

Interests

I am interested in all kinds of language phenomena. I would like to learn some more languages. Also I like all signs of cultural history - from buildings to paintings to philosophical texts. And for some reason, I don't know, why, I like family stories. I also like music, I played bass in a band myself and like to go to concerts.

- standing on the top of the minaret of the Red Mosque in Delhi, watching the sunset over the city
- going by boat the Lobé River in Cameroon
- studying and living in Venice for one year
