About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Raising a healthy, happy child, gardening and home maintenance, development of distributed renewable energy resources (solar)

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Southern California, against the foothills of Angeles National Forest. My parents were artists/artisans, providing me with a moderately eclectic upbringing. I got to travel internationally a decent amount during my 20s, and I've been working on my career in solar project management/development over the last 8-9 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I was growing up in LA, we were constantly hosting friends, and friends of friends of my mother's from her home country. Our house was open to anyone we knew, (or that knew someone we knew), that needed a place to stay throughout my childhood.

Outside of CS, I've surfed in Shenzhen, Manilla, New Jersey, New York, Israel, Saskatoon...

In my adult life, I have enjoyed hosting and being hosted on numerous occasions, and the experiences are educational at the very least, and mostly very enjoyable.

The best aspects of humanity are realized through acts of sharing - of food, space, security, self; through active creation of immediate community.

Since returning to Los Angeles, I've learned about and gotten involved with the project of intentional community.

Couch surfing and intentional community are both informed by similar/largely complementary value systems, much of which I identify with intimately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking and camping at 9,000 ft in the Eastern Sierra Nevadas along pristine glacier lakes and streams in the summer really does it for me.

Boat travel down the middle of Bangkok is pretty great...
