About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet people of all nations for conversation, travel and hobby sharing

ABOUT ME

I am an older guy with a young outlook. I live alone, but may like to change that with the right person. I was widowed in 1994, then had a long relationship from 1995 to 2010. I have an adult son from my marriage, who lives about 12 miles away. Also, a step daughter who I inherited when she was 6, on marrying my late wife. She has 2 children, and they all live quite locally. I am on Facebook, but not very adept at messaging! Prefer to communicate via email initially, possibly phone thereafter.

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself to be open-minded and non-judgemental, and prefer the company of others similar in that respect.
Sick of politicians, and wish my country had the same governmental aspirations as Costa Rica! Live and let live, love and be loved.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a member of U3A, (The University of The Third Age) and attend various groups therin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as yet!

Interests

Wildlife, particulary birds. Most sports, sadly now largely as a spectator, though I regularly play petanque.
Photography. Sea bathing, yes, even in the UK! I am a naturist when appropriate, but not obsessively. I love to travel, preferably independently, but not alone. I.e. not particulary fond of organised groups. All forms of transport. Caravanning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Very selective movie fan. Music: Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, The Pogues et al. That said, enjoy most genres, particularly live, but not too loud!
Books: Hobby related, mainly non-fiction, but enjoy Stephen King.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visiting Galapagos.

Teach, Learn, Share

Birdwatching. European travel.
