ABOUT ME

Although having lived all my life in Germany, I always enjoyed travelling around Europe. As my father is a member to an friendship organisation which is promoting understanding between peoples ("Völkerverständigung") all over Europe, I had the opportunity to visit places in England, France, Poland, Denmark and Russia and meet locals there rather than seeing the place only from the "tourist perspective".

Europe as a project fascinates me because it has guaranteed us after centuries of wars peace for more than 60 years. Today the "Schengen" agreement enables me to visit countries, which my grandfathers might have been fighting against, without having to show a passport or getting even controlled at all. This is how I understand freedom.

My mission led me to decide to leave Germany for studying in England and so I found my new home in Leeds.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I don't have a couch I could offer since I'm currently living in student accommodation, but as a business school student, I know that accommodation is the most annoying expenditure on a budget travel and through my own experience I know that authentic local people are the best people to meet in a new city (and they even tend to be the best city guides)!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately, I don't have any couch-surfing experience, but I can't wait meeting people during my Euro-Trip this Easter.

Interests

When I'm not busy studying, I love reading newspapers - I follow the news very closely. I'm fascinated by the world of transportation and that's maybe also a explanation for my constant desire to travel around...
