About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To think, ponder, have fun whilst being as safe as chance allows, with old and new friends to come

ABOUT ME

(I am back in Manchester piecing life together after a fabulous trip to India, Aus n South America - WOO!!)

I like to have fun - alot! I'm big into going out and partying with my mates, dancing to good music (dirty, fat bass is particularly appealing) and soaking up the atmosphere and culture of the places I visit. I love food (I can cook a mean feast) and can pack away quite a feed, I must have a fast metabolism tho as I aint fat. However, my taste buds just can't hack cheese (believe me I've tried!) and I haven't managed to swallow raw fish without wanting to puke!

I go to festivals when the season comes in the UK and would like to try more around the world, particularly some of the bad ass ones in Europe, have been to a couple in Sydney too (Days Like This/Playground Wkender). I have friends from all walks of life and am fortunate to have many with amazing talents in music and the arts, self proclaimed geeks included. Most people I hang out with like to party, but don't let that scare you - we also enjoy the odd country walk and mincing around art exhibitions.

I like to give my time when I can to volunteering opportunities - it's good for the soul and I learn so much from it too! As mentioned, I was doing earthquake relief in Pisco, Peru - a good hard graft, sweated buckets and swore a lot at a truck that just did not want to work! and have given my time (whilst also learning a hell of a lot), to a Domestic Violence organisation in Sydney.

There's way more, but I can only go on about myself for so long before I start to get bored... I have the tendency to be a bit lazy (as we all do eh ;) ). If I had to pick one word to describe myself btw, it would be LOYAL. Friends can always count on me to be there for you :)

PHILOSOPHY

Live life as happy as you can make it, protect yourself and your soul.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All absolutely ace so far - met some lovely people and really appreciate what couchsurfing does to the travelling community :)

Interests

To name but a few...

Music, dancin, art, travel, food, cooking, entertaining, culture, eating, socialising, trying new things, friends, people, volunteering, like a good read, countryside, the sea (swimmin in it especially), trying to do a bit of exercise - yoga/dancin, talkin, listening, showing off on a hula hoop (it's all about the stamina rather than the tricks at the moment ;) )...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - (in no particular order) Dub, breaks, bass, filthy electro, dnb, folk, alternative, techno, electronica, soul, jazz, trip/hip hop, burlesque, 80's/90's acid/house/soul/funk/dance, some 40's/50's/60's/70's, latino sounds ... NO pop/cheese, metal, rock, commercial indie... (this is all personal, I don't judge others for what they like/dislike)

Books - Haruki Murakami is a fave author, notable books that I loved/laughed/cried "The Kite Runner", "100 Years of Solitude"... and "The Yes Man" by Danny Wallace is the funniest book I have read by far!! Fo sure!! You HAVE to read it!

Movies - am not too good here as they don't impact on my memory so well...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a baby snail! In a flower, doing a poo!

Teach, Learn, Share

In terms of languages, I am typically English - lazy at learning others than my own! But I am willing and endeavour to expand on my linguistic skills, particularly in Spanish and I try to make myself as understood as possible when speaking English to non-English speakers i.e. not so fast, speaking clearly and try not to use too much slang or I will explain myself if I do!

I can share experiences, personal philosophy - I am pretty open and honest - you may find it interesting, you may not. My life has had it's fair share of ups and downs - like that life experience I've mentioned before...
