One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Partying in Ruigoord north of Amsterdam; it's a large area that was squatted in the 70's. The municipality of Amsterdam had plans for destroying the whole natural area and convert it into dock lands - to facilitate oil trade.
Plans fell through because of the squatting opposition, but now you have the docks all around the area.

Seeing the beautiful nature, hearing about the (very old) history of the area and having the stark contrast of the oil infrastructure that now completely surrounds the area left a lasting impression on me!
