About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Doing research for my thesis and becoming a sports teacher.

ABOUT ME

I often hear people say I have a strong and kind appearance. I am working on my inner strength by exploring my potential which sound very vague and hippie-like, something I am definitely not. I came to a point where I didn't know who I was or what to do with my life, hence the exploring, I found out that I wanted to pursue my passion for sports and coaching people. So now, next to my graduation research, I am training to become a personal fitness trainer and who knows what other sports I will teach in the future. My dream now is to become a good teacher in pole sports (kind of like pole dancing but without the sensual part). I spend a lot of time practicing pole fitness and also started kickboxing which I both enjoy a lot. My dream would be to travel the world and when I find a nice place, stay and work there for a while. I am especially drawn to Spain, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina and Colombia.

PHILOSOPHY

Almost everything is possible, not everything is easy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Prague, where I went with my boyfriend. We felt at home and think Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people and it can give you the best travel experience!

Interests

I spend a lot of time doing pole fitness as I am training to enter the national championships next year. Traveling is something I absolutely love and want to do when I get another chance.
I am interested in how the brain works and how plastic and therefore trainable it is. This made me choose to study (neuro)biology and lately I directed this interest towards how the brain and body can be trained. Interactions between the outside (environment) and inside (brain or other organism such as a plant) fascinate me and I guess this brought me to the field of sustainable development.
O yes and sometimes I surprise myself with an interest, such as painting the walls in the living room which turned out quite nice (one of my pictures).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling in Peru and Bolivia. I went on my own but was never alone, something I can definitely recommend :)
Win a medal at the dutch championships of Pole Fitness after putting a lot of effort into training.
Going to my first hardstyle festival, last summer. Why didn't I discover this sooner :P

What I Can Share with Hosts

Currently, I live in a student house where we share facilities with 15 people. We all have our own bedroom (12 m*m). Currently, my options for hosting are not ideal but I do have a bed-couch. (Until the end of October 2016 my house owner is re-doing all the facilities and it is almost impossible to live here, let alone be a guest so I recommend not sending requests for this period of time.) My housemates are all very nice and we usually spend a lot of time together. They are also open for guests.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bolivia, Hungary, Peru, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
