ABOUT ME
I've lived in Ghent my whole life. I was born here and I know I will end here. What happens in between is a journey I'm very happy to make!
I live with my boyfriend, Maarten, who is a scientist (just finished his PhD in molecular biology). He studied biology and molecular medical biotechnology in Ghent. Emotion and ratio is what keeps us in balance. And we both adore travelling, having new experiences, living life to the most.
Right now, we are on that trip around the world we have planned for three years. We left on the 1st of november and return home at the 30th of april. Although we are already thinking it would be nice to stay on the road for a little bit longer.
PHILOSOPHY
So long a dream, so short a day!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I heard about couchsurfing through a friend who did it in Turkey. He was very excited about it.
When you come in a city for the first time, it takes a while before you know the whereabouts. When you have little time, that's a pitty. When someone is willing to give you some advice on where en when, that would be a great help.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Two experiences, both in Canada.
Interests
When we're not at work we love spending time with family and friends. We always organise all sorts of stuff to do: picnics, short trips, barbeques, games to play, etc. I also love dancing, cooking (especially mediteranian and asian dishes) and reading. Maarten is more into the scientific literature. He also loves petanque. We're also very into theatre and movies.
