About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the world a happier, better and more fun place through science!

ABOUT ME

I'm taking off for Japan this summer to do stem cell research at Chiba University for the next two years. Before that, I'd love to do some traveling around the United States since I never really got a chance to growing up. I'm from a very, very rural part of Michigan, and I think it would be swell to broaden my horizons!

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every day and leave the world a better place than when you found it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined not too long ago, hoping to perhaps surf some couches out in Boston, NYC, or San Francisco this summer, but I'd also love to hang out in Ann Arbor. Additionally, once I move to Japan and get settled in later this year, I'd love to share my couch (though I doubt I'll actually have one) to anyone looking to surf in the greater Tokyo area!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, hoping to change that!

Interests

I play the guitar and enjoy bicycling and running. Additionally, I'm very interested in medical science, especially stem cell biology, cancer biology and immunology.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite band: Modest Mouse
Favorite book: toss up between Wild Sheep Chase by Murakami Haruki and Kokoro by Natsume Souseki
Favorite movie: don't know

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Attempted to sneak into the Michigan Stadium a few days before graduation and got caught by the police. Also, spent 9 weeks in Japan in 2008, and got to pull a huge float in a festival parade!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know all about life in rural Michigan, ask me why people store jars of deer urine in their fridges, and I can tell you! I also am an advocate of ethical stem cell research, and can share my opinions about why you should be too.
