Hi, I'm Jon! I grew up in a small town in western New York state, and I'm taking every opportunity I can to see new places and new people. My travel style is pretty improvisational- I'm not so great at planning, and I also find that the best way to discover opportunities is to be flexible and open minded.

I love languages, history, math, and food, and I'm just as happy to talk about any of those as I am to learn about other people's passions!

Both my parents are musicians, so I have always enjoyed listening to and especially playing music. I grew up playing the steel drums and trumpet, and have taught myself a bit of ukulele as well- unfortunately, I am not bringing any of these on my travels, but I'm always willing to share my músical tastes in exchange for hearing what you like!

I plan to do a lot of traveling in the near future, and Couchsurfing seems like a good way to see places in an authentic, affordable way. Would love to host guests once I'm able!

Music:
My music tastes are all over the place. Favorite band is The Beatles, but I also like calypso, hip hop, rock, jazz, reggae, folk music, and anything with interesting rhythms!

Books:
Unfortunately I have lost the habit of reading I once had, but when I get into a book it can completely absorb me! Here are some of my favorites. (I'll update this list as I continue to remember my favorite books)
