I'm a San Francisco resident born & raised in Los Angeles. I studied journalism & theater arts in college mainly because my interests are so varied and both those fields offer plenty of fodder for the curious mind.

Just before graduation college two years ago, I landed a gig with "SF Weekly" as a regular contributor and mostly focused my work on film & theater. By far my favorite part of the job is the interviews. Couple my reporting skills with my background as a stage actor and some would say I'm a pretty good people person since so much of these disciplines requires a love and willingness to invest in other lives.

In addition to my work as a reporter, I most recently maintained a job as a front desk agent at a four star hotel in downtown San Francisco. Wanna learn patience? Work in hospitality. Rewarding work but ultimately not for me so now I find myself in an exciting transitory phase, splitting my time between Los Angeles & San Francisco, while I figure out the next step hence the travels!

It occurred to me a few months ago that I hadn't traveled outside the U.S. in quite some time and so I somewhat impulsively purchased flights to Barcelona, Berlin & Bangkok just because! The timing felt perfect & my current situation allows allows for such desires to be met. I'd be fool to sit on this impulse and just let it fade without acting on it. And so here I am just two weeks shy of boarding a flight to Barcelona all by lonesome with nothing more than a backpack & my natural curiosity that has carried me along all these years.

That's where you come in! Why couchsurf? Well, why not? Seems like the perfect way to meet new people abroad and keep the spirit of adventure alive.

I'm a huge movie buff! I'm not even sure where to begin with this part of the profile. "Black Swan" is probably the film I've seen the most times & never grow tired of so maybe that will give you an impression of where my tastes lie.

I shook hands with Meryl Streep once. They say never meet your idols because they'll disappoint but she's clearly the exception.
