I'm moving back from a long stay in Vietnam at the moment, and trying to get back into academic pursuits stateside. Meanwhile I'm doing a big of traveling, and love meeting people along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently crashed with a lot of different friends and acquaintances in Paris while on tour with my band. I once crashed with some friends in Germany while hitchhiking, and was so tired that the hardwood floor was positively comfortable.

Music, Movies, and Books

James Joyce's Ulysses is my favorite book. Lately I've been reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson, which is pretty good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just got back from hanging out will hill tribes in Sapa, in the north of Vietnam. They were really friendly and I learned a lot about their customs and practices.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a variety of musical instruments: accordion, piano, flute, bamboo sax; also a variety of languages. I love talking about literature, too, especially poetry.
