About Me

Hello,
My name is Jonas and I just lived in Germany so far. In early summer 2017 I completed my school education and started to study in Bonn, the next bigger city, that is the closest to my hometown. My subject was computer science. I just wrote 'was', because 1 year later I quit, due to not feeling ready and disciplined enough to make my way to a bachelor. Moreover it just wasn't the right subject for me either. Right now I am doing an apprenticeship as a businessman for office management and feel really happy in my job. My workplace is close to where I live and I'm especially glad about the company I work for. Part of my time I also work at a movie theater, although I just do it for fun, because I got friends with all the colleagues there and love working, chatting and hanging out with them.

In my personal opinion I have a patient but also curious character and can get really excited about things in general. I love experiencing new things and try to do this as often as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Personally, I get the feeling too often, to miss the full potential of my free time and I definitely want to work on this 'problem' to be more satisfied over all. I am a really sociable person and I love to meet (new) people and found this to be a good opportunity for me.

I feel surprisingly (a surprise for some people) comfortable spending my time with others. It takes some people for a decent amount of time near me, to miss time for myself.

I especially like the idea, traveling to a (foreign) country to meet somebody via couchsurfing, so that i can get an impression of the country, language and culture. I had some couchsurfing like experiences in my last vacation and never had a great time like this, while traveling. It showed me a way of experiencing and traveling I am urgently trying to repeat!

Sidefact: my room is called the hotspot for a long time because of the many times my friends visited me there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have had two nights in a tent, on the alps, between Austria and Italy with a good friend. In the first night a young bear with its mother came right near the tent and stayed for half an hour. An experience, that felt like I was on the edge of a bearfight. Afterwards pretty cool but I was shaking in the moment.
