About Me

ABOUT ME

Trying to be open-minded, creative, and to constantly challenge myself in new ways. Please help me with that! :)

Thankful to be able to make a living from my passion: Music. I always work very hard, but it never feels like work! I believe music is all about communicating and listening, and that is what makes it so exciting and interesting. Like couchsurfing, you could say...

When I don't play, write, sing, teach, record or listen to music I love to spend time with friends and family. I try to combine these things as often as possible, though. You can always sneak in an underground concert with a balkan-punk band, a little record release party or some Puccini at the Royal Opera House when hanging out with people! Haha...

I do a lot of volunteer work for the YMCA in inner city, Copenhagen, trying to teach teenagers how to play some music in the key of life! ;) And how to behave towards each other. I've done this for 4 years so far, and it is an important part of my life.

PHILOSOPHY

For the time being, I like this phrase: "It's not luck, It's hard work!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting and surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted once, and I have surfed 2 different couches. All great experiences.

Interests

Did I mention music?! No seriously, I like a lot of other things, too:

Talking to people with interesting interests!

History, politics, art, learning more about the world I live in.

Good food -used to only enjoy eating it, but at the moment I am trying to learn how to cook it myself, too. Learning by doing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don't have a TV, but love movies. Some good ones I've seen in the last couple of years: Pan's Labyrint, Batman: The Dark Knight, Walk the Line, Adam's Apples.

Music: A lot of very different stuff, from Bob Dylan over John Coltrane to the White Stripes, Under Byen, Hurts, James Blake, Röyksopp, Michael Jackson, John Zorn and the list goes on and on and on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lots of stuff! But this one is the most CS relevant one:

Once I invited a whole band to come and stay in my flat in Copenhagen after just having heard them play in Sydney, Australia. 6 months passed, and suddenly they came by and stayed for over a week and enjoyed the Copenhagen summer with me and my friends. I even managed to get them a gig during their stay. Back then I had never heard of CS, this was just my own idea, but it was a fantastic experience anyway!

There are a lot of other things, but let's talk about them when we meet! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Music is one thing I believe I know a lot about, though I'm constantly trying to find out more. I am always willing to share my view on things and my knowledge.
I may have some stories from being on the road a lot, too... :)

Also, I'm interested in both international politics and Danish politics and history.

What I want to learn? Everything! Bring it on!! Haha...
