About Me
CURRENT MISSION
thinking of something creative for this spot
ABOUT ME
I'm a rather introverted than outgoing person, who thinks or at least tries to think before talking. Though this sometimes makes me a bad partner for smalltalk, I do love having deep talks, getting to know people, showing people my world, etc.
I love traveling for what it is. Just like I love to know to have a home.
PHILOSOPHY
In short, my philosophy turned out to be 'live as true to yourself as possible'. Which, sometimes, can be impossible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Until now, I have barely participated in the project, but I simply love the idea of proving, that 'the earth is not a cold dead place'.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In Memphis, we were taken on a completely unexpected speed boat ride along the Mississipi by a friend of our host.
The stop in Memphis which was supposed to be just a recreation stop between two exhausting, day-long Greyhoundbus rides from the west- to the eastcoast of the USA turned out to be one of the highlights in our whole journey.
Interests
Travelling; making music (in particular: playing guitar), listening to music, searching for new bands and sounds; good movies; good books; modern art; friends; coffee; driving through my hometown with a friend while drinking coffee and listening to music; computergaming and a lot more (stuff i can't remember right now). My most recent passion are 'good' comic books, such as Maus or Persepolis.

Music, Movies, and Books
Too much, some examples:
Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums (Wes Anderson in general); Aliens; Wristcutters; Spirited Away; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Music: Nick Drake; The Velvet Underground (& Nico); Modest Mouse; Menomena; AFX; Port O' Brien
Books: Anything from Murakami and Kafka; 100 Years of Solitude; Jo Nesbo books (as a rare example for crime novels that actually are written well)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen and done a lot of things on my travels, but it's impossible for me to pick out one thing, so I'll go for something (completely) different:
I was once working in a daycare center for severly disabled persons. The people there were amazingly compassionate and 'true' about their feelings and openhearted in contrast to a Germany that can seem very cold. It opened my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm good in recommending stuff, like books, music or movies.
I can teach basic guitar skills like chords (and similar basic things), but i don't know too much songs (and always wonder why).
I could also teach German, as it is my native language.
I'm eager to learn about every form of artistic expression
