Hey everyone,
A little about me: I just graduated college with my Bachelor's in English and Business. I'm from the U.S. and am very eager to travel around now that school is finally finished. My hobbies include anything sci-fi (I'm a big Trekkie, Star Wars, and comic book fan). I love animals and am looking forward to getting a new pet next year. I've worked a number of different jobs ranging from state park DNR officer to managing events at the home of the Detroit Pistons national basketball team. My favorite pass time would be bicycling.

My girlfriend and I are couchsurfing because we haven't found what we're looking for in hotels/hostels in the areas we're wanting to visit (price, accommodations, locations). We're hoping to try this route and meet some cool people in the process.

System of a Down is my favorite band. Star Trek: First Contact, Batman Begins, 3:10 to Yuma, Dances with Wolves, and Interstellar are some of my favorite movies. The Count of Monte Cristo, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and Swim with the Sharks are some of my favorite books.

The closest I've come to backpacking was in 2010 when I flew down from Indiana to Florida for a week and from there on out to California. I went only with my Nike backpack and I had an amazing time.
