Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What is the point to traveling, if you experience it alone? Hostels have been my go-to for a while, but they're not always available. It's important for me to be prepared, and to have a variety of options at my disposal. I seek out genuine humanity wherever I go. Find common ground. Discuss perspectives. Share experiences. All it takes is a crack in the ice. Once we get that over and done with, we could explore the world if we so choose.

Music, Movies, and Books

"The Grateful Dead are not the best at what they do, they're the only ones who do what they do" -Bill Graham

“As I listened, leaning over the amps with my jaw hanging agape, trying to comprehend the forces that Miles was unleashing onstage, I was thinking 'What’s the use. How can we possibly play after this?'" - Phil Lesh

"So it was through Bill that I met the Grateful Dead. Jerry Garcia, their guitar player, and I hit it off great, talking about music - what they liked and what I liked - and I think we all learned something, grew some." - Miles Davis

Music for me, must be functional. Everything has a purpose. One purpose is transcendence; enrapture me when I actively listen. Support me through my day when I subconsciously listen - purpose #2.

I love an accurate period piece. Whether its the battle of the Teutoberg forest, the unification of England, or the politics of the Mexican revolution, if its informative, I'm in. Big shout out to Time Ghost Army for full in depth coverage of the events of humanity from 1914 to 1950s.

As for reading, my text books take up most of that. When I do read non-school related books, I like to relax, and to be informed. I have a nearly 3' tall book entitled "Cosmos" with detailed pictures and descriptions of our deepest journeys into the vast unknown. Another is "100 Wonders of the World", detailing both architectural and natural wonders alike.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That I've overcome the adversity of past trauma. That I came to the age of 26. That I am more aware of myself and my needs than ever before. That I am liberated from anxiety of social pressures to conform. That I freely am.

Teach, Learn, Share

"Whaddya hear? Whaddya say?"

I may nerd out and info dump on really niche topics if prompted. Feel free to stop me at any time XD

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking! I worked in a few kitchens in my day. With the right tools and ingredients, I can make more things than not. It's a pleasure of mine to have breakfast well on its way to being completed by the time the rest of the house is waking up.

Any excess of mine which you lack. Not exclusive to currency.

Countries I’ve Visited
