Hey Couchsurfers! My name in Jonathan Spanel. I'm a 24 year old guy from the heart of the midwest. I grew up in a suburb outside of Dayton, OH and have spent the majority of my years there. I recently moved to Columbus, OH to start a new chapter in my life and experience some change. So far, I am loving the feel of a bigger city. Meeting new people and chatting about whats going on locally is one thing I enjoy most about living in a new city.

I try to live my life by my own motto: self-improvment and new experiences. I like to be in a constant state of improving myself through any channel. I enjoy weightlifting and bicycling to improve my body and reading to improve my mind. Wherever I go, I leave no stone unturned; sampling whatever the people around me have to offer. Whether it be food or drink, music or activities: I yearn to try everything at least once.

I'm on Couchsurfing to see what locals have to offer wherever I may travel. Meeting new people and the cultural exchange that goes along with that is exciting and educational. Locals also know what to do in a city much better than any internet or tour guide will.

Music:
I enjoy music that you can listen to and chill out to; music that calms the soul. Im big into any kind of electronic/synthesized music as well. But in all reality: I will listen to any that is catchy, really.

Movies:
Any movie with solid plot development and complex yet relatable characters. I want a movie to be able to transport me out of my seat and into whatever world is portrayed on the screen.

Books:
I enjoy reading sci-fi, thrillers, fantasy, biographies/autobiographies, and nonfiction.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My first time I had every gone skiing was in Beavercreek, Colorado. Even with no experience on the slopes, I managed to stay upright (mostly) and conquer the treacherous bunny hills! I truly enjoyed being in the Rockies and absorbing the scenery that that area offered. So while I am by no means a good (or even decent) skier, it is one activity that I find so much joy in.
