About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've written a great big literary book and I'm going to be traveling a lot to get it published.

ABOUT ME

My name is John. I work as an ER doc, raise two kids, and in my spare time I wrote the Great American Novel. I've had quite a few traveling adventures over the years, but I'm specifically joining CouchSurfing because as I anticipate I will travel first to get my book published and then to promote it once it hits bookshelves. Hotels are dull, functional places, but I prefer to meet real people in the new places I'll be going.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in creating something beautiful with my life and serving others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm kind of new here so I'll have to figure out how I participate as a I go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Probably the most interesting couchsurfing (not associated with this website) experience I had was in Haiti. I was working in a hospital there for several months in college and wanted to learn the language. The hospital pharmacist decided the best way would be to drive me into the mountains and leave me in a little village where no one spoke English. I stayed with a very kind family and learned to bathe with stream water. I also wasn't allowed to walk alone at night because demons might catch me. I returned from the village speaking Haitian Creole very well.
