About Me

Hej! Bonjour! Wie geht's? I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, went to college for a couple of years to study linguistics and political science, then caught the travel bug at 19 and didn't look back. Since 2014 I've backpacked solo through more than 20 countries in Europe, enjoying the people and splendors of various regions like Scandinavia, the Balkans, the Baltic states, Catalonia and more. As I grow as a traveler and eventually visit every country I hope to share my experiences and hear the stories of others who have explored this wild world! I produce music in basically all of my spare time, it's this sort of New Wave/Eurodance hybrid and in between trips I'm working on making my career happen! Goals aside, I'm a regular 21 year old who eats too much and texts his friends stupid memes. 😄

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I use it to completely eliminate the need for hotels and hostels during my travels! I find that staying with local people greatly increases one's chances of making a strong connection with the culture, and especially the language!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had an amazing trip to Scandinavia in December 2014, and it literally would not have happened without CS. I met one of my best friends in Copenhagen, and he totally changed my life. I also met some awesome friends in Sweden and Finland who I've stayed with multiple times since. On my trip last year, CouchSurfing saved my life several more times in Tallinn, Hamburg, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Eindhoven. I'm so grateful for the incredible individuals I've met through this website. :)

Always gonna be a massive Harry Potter fan :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Helsinki and I got locked out of a friend's building because he was passed out drunk, so I spent an hour trying to throw pebbles at his window on the 5th floor, an old lady finally let me in, I slept in the hallway for two hours then finally decided to hitchhike across Helsinki at 4 in the morning to get to another friend's place. I walked several miles, then two different people picked me up and took me further, I ended up way on the west edge of the city, took a train into the center, wandered around the central station for an hour and then arrived at my friend Martin's door at 7am. 😂

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I'll be able to share a lot of linguistic knowledge - little fun facts about different languages, or how to tell them apart. I love the little things, like facts and nuances about cultures and countries. You can bet that while I'm traveling I'm going to be constantly talking and connecting with everyone!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help you clean, do chores, go shopping - anything you'd like! Within reason.
