About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting to know Australia better after travelling around the world over the last year. Interested in finding new places and having new experiences in my home land before starting some kind of work again...

ABOUT ME

Over the last year i have come to realise i am not your typical traveller, but very typical at the same time. I quite my job, sold my possessions and rented out my apartment to go on an adventure and see the world - instead of spending the money on a new mortgage i am trading it for experience.

I love nature, photography as well as the finer things in life like electronic music and chilling out with good people and this set me on a collision course with south america for 4 months. After visitng the jungles of Brazil, columbia, boliva and partying in argentina i set off on a 4 month road trip across america in a camper van. And finally i spent the summer in europe, greece, croatia, portugal chilling out on the beach most days, soaking up the sun that australia has missed in recent years.

You might think that i am hippy from my profile, and while i call some my friends, my demeanor and appearence is the same as the average person you might meet at that little cocktail bar on a saturday night.

PHILOSOPHY

Im interested in anything that really happens in the _real world_. While i enjoy movies, tv and sports occasionally, these are not things that motivate me these days. I love documentaries, nature, exploring new places and conversations that explore all these things and more. Life to me is becoming less about status and money and much more about the things that were their before these concepts started to dominate our world.
As someone that has travelled alot, i am very tolerant of other peoples life choices and situations. I am very light hearted, dry witted like most australians, and very much enjoy to laugh. I do however like to steer conversation away from travel chatter towards deeper levels very quickly. so if you arnt into deeper conversation, im probably not going to interest you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After travelling the world i understand how little people usually travel in there own country. I have travelled by 4wd, usually hanging out in national parks and seeing the wilder side of australia, but i have decided now its time to take another look at the cities but this time with the help of like-minded people and their couches..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My current experience is on friends counches, where i am currently. im looking to expand my friendship groups and horizons and thats why i am trying this out... ive heard lots of good things from fellow travellers about this style of travel, and im excited to be giving it a go finally.

im easy going and extremely independant, but i would like more then just a couch. i enjoy good conversation over some good food, meeting people, and being shown places that travellers dont usually find on their own. Im very open minded, and love new experiences...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is part of my life. I love different styles and genres of sounds, matching them to my mood and the time of day. I love how music can take you back to those places, and allow you to relive emotions many years after first experiencing the song, and to keep this feeling alive i am continually introducing new music into my life.

Like most people i enjoy movies. i prefer documentaries these days, but movies always have a time and place. I used to be pretty obsessed with movies but this passion has faded, so i am quite well versed in a variety of genres and styles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How about road tripping over 3 months across southern america. from south beach in miami, to savannah in south carolina, memphis, new orleans for mardi gra, across texas and new mexico to route 66 and the grand canyon. finishing up driving californias hiway one from san diago to san francisco. the classic Griswalds road-trip across america... living out of a van with a bed, sink and paper maps.

Teach, Learn, Share

Life to me is about further your knowledge, and so i am the kind of person who really enjoys sharing my experiences in life with people. practically, i well versed in mechanics, jungle/bush survival skills, marine biology/diving, computers/software, music, aquascaping, aquariums, different ways of living..

what id like to learn;
-yoga, pilates, the balance between mind and body
-about your philisophy in life
-new musical experiences
