About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to balance settling down with still getting to travel and explore.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in Michigan but spent most of the last 12 years living in several states in the Western US (Alaska, California, Idaho, Washington, Utah). Had the opportunity to travel a little bit internationally and around the US.

I stay active and love to be outdoors. Hiking, rock climbing, yoga, or just a walk around the neighborhood. I spend a lot of time reading. I play guitar, enjoy cooking, and really enjoy meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

"I do not know whether I should make progress; but I should prefer to lack success than to lack faith." - Seneca

“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.” - Kurt Vonnegut

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love getting to meet locals when I go to new cities. In 2023 I'll finally be living someplace that I'll be able to host, although I'm not expecting many guests in rural Michigan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a lot of fun with some really great people around the US. Looking forward to being able to host soon

Music, Movies, and Books

Wide varieties of everything but some of my favorites:

TV: Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Broad City, Last Week Tonight, Peep Show

Books: Kurt Vonnegut, A People's History of the United States, A Hitchhiker's Guide, Bill Bryson

Music: Tool, Gorillaz, Fela Kuti, bluegrass, psychedelic rock

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent the first two months after moving out of my parent's house living in a tent near a small town in southeast Alaska.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like sharing ideas and information, although I admittedly don't know very much. I know a bit about hockey, I've taught people how to drive a manual transmission, I like telling stories, and I like learning about all kinds of things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a chill, clean, and considerate guest. I like to cook and really enjoy getting to make and share meals with people. And hopefully some good laughs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belize, Canada, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, New Zealand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, United States
