About Me

I have a dream, that one day I shall have left my mark on the world. And when I'm gone, people from all around the world shall know what I've achieved with my life.

I'm 19 years old who has finally flew out of the nest and moved on a much larger city. My original goal was to move only if I got accepted into the university, but as the entrance exam's results came out and I got placed on the waiting place in the 9th rank, I still decided to move and study in the open university. My current life goal though is to find a job, so studying is at the part-time position.

I'm a person of reason and imagination (this might sound a strange combination, but that's what describes me the most in my opinion). The reason side comes from my worldview, ideologies and life philosophy, which stands at the secular worldview and scientific knowledge. The imagination on the other hand comes from my dream of becoming a world known writer of fantasy literature, which has been my ultimate life goal since I was 15 years old.

But the limits of my personality don't end there! I'm a kind and open person, who isn't afraid of the company of total strangers (to be fair though I might sometimes require a drink or two before that happens, and this is what explains my tendency to make acquaintances at parties).

But with all this positive info out of the way, it would be unfair to you not to mention some negative points, for example I have a tendency to not have anything to talk about, and this eventually leads to an extremely awkward silence. I can also be very arrogant when conversations turn into something I really know a lot about, but I am still a human who has a lot to learn, and therefore listen a lot of other peoples opinions. I also have an incredibly bad sense of humor, but that's because its typical to Finns (seriously, we have the weirdest and darkest sense of humor in the planet). I'm lazy, and by lazy I mean really lazy, all I do at home in my spare time is drink, play video games, surf the net and eat, in that order (life of a young-Finn I guess).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel, and that way meet new people. But as my life situation stands, I can't afford to travel, so I'd like for the foreigners to come to me!

Interests

Writing. Reading. Video games and movies. History. Philosophy. Science (especially quantum mechanics and cosmology). Fantasy and sci-fi with a bit of thriller. Space and time. Art (favorite eras being the renaissance and romantic). Politics. Singing (I'm told that my deep singing voice is perfect for certain songs e.g. The Rains of Castamere). And last but not least partying and enjoying good company of amazing people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an absolute fan of fantasy literature, which is why I'm writing it (if that didn't come clear already). My favorites being Lord of the Rings (of course) and A Song of Ice and Fire (duh...), I'm also a fan of Harry Potter and His Dark Materials. I'm also a big fan of sci-fi and I can't wait for Star Wars episode VIII to come out enough.

My movie taste varies from comedy to tragedy, if a movie has a deep and complex plot and can make me shed a tear or two, I'm sold. For example my all time favorite movie has got to be Interstellar or Inception, for these movies had me either cry or just drop my jaw out of pure sadness or complexity.

My taste in music is also one of variation. I mostly listen to trailer and classical music (which has inspired me in my writing), but I also enjoy the classic songs of the 80's and 90's. I'm a fan of alternative rock, my favorite band being Poets of The Fall. But recently my taste has been to listen some of the biggest hits of Finnish music from the early 90's to present. Today though my favorite song is The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel and the amazing covers of this song.

I am a gamer and my favorite video game -series is Assassin's Creed, but my favorite game of all time has to be Bioshock Infinite, because that game is what changed my entire view of life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That the first time I actually cooked for myself, it tasted better than anything my parents had made for me in my entire life.

But what I am especially proud of is the creation of an entire world for my book, with its own cultures, history and languages.

Teach, Learn, Share

My personal take on the question of the meaning of life:

We are taught that history is the past, but that's not true. Yes, history tells about the past, but it's not that. And many learn this either too late or not at all. History, in its fundamental core, is the creed of the present. It is an epic tale of each and everyone of us, a tale of who we are, where we come from, and how we have made it here. History is a nexus of time, which symphony's first string was played at the birth of space and time, and which keeps on binding us all to the very end.

Every event, that has ever occurred in this universe, has lead to this very moment. Every birth and death, every though and understanding and every deed anyone has ever done. So the real question for the meaning of life isn't what it is, it is what are you going to do at this very moment.
