To live a life of experiences, not measured by success or wealth, but by stories.
I come from a very small town on the prairies, and it was travel that saved me and opened my eyes to how much more this world has to offer. I am only now starting to figure out life, but I know that it includes old and new friends, good experiences, and a French-Canadian ginger cat named Pineuf.

To live life as a sitcom. Until then, collect experiences for my backstory.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As a surfer today, with the dream to host one day when I have a place of my own.
I've only had great experiences with couchsurfing, including hosts that feel like old friends, rooms with ocean views, and locals who know the bars with the best live bands.
If you want to get me out of my shell, ask me about what movies or TV I've watched recently! I love when storytelling through television becomes art, and I attempt to watch every Oscar nominated film before awards night. I watch sitcoms to fine tune my sense of humour, another hobby of mine.
Off the couch, I enjoy most warm weather activities like hiking, camping and being on the lake. I enjoy learning new things, like surfing and longboarding. Winter is my nemesis. While activities like skiing and snowshoeing are fun, I can only enjoy them in very small doses. Winters in Saskatchewan can easily last six months of the year, so I try to travel during these months.
I also read occasionally, and can often be found with a cup of coffee in hand. I plan for my retirement by dabbling in the art of knitting, so when I'm old my 30 cats can all have matching sweaters.
Music, Movies, and Books
Top Films: The Social Network, Into the Wild, Love Actually, Up in the Air, Django Unchained, Willow, etc.
Top TV: Lost, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Community, Downton Abbey, Will & Grace, Departures (the most amazing travel show), etc.
Top Music: I go through phases, so I never know what is popular until it has become overplayed. Like, right now I'm really into Motown, but last month it was film scores. Bryan Adams, John Mayer and Coldplay will always have a special place in my heart.
Top Books: John Green (The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns), George R. R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire), Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time), C. S. Lewis, J. K. Rowling, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some of my favourite travel memories:
- swimming in a glacial stream in the New Zealand mountains after three days of downpour rain! Brr!
- encountering a grizzly bear in the Canadian Rockies during an overnight hike. [The trick is not to run, and MAKE A LOT OF NOISE!!]
- traveling solo through Argentina and Chile.
- eating in Montreal. Seriously the food is amazing!
