About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn to play the harmonica while traveling around the world.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 27 year old freelance journalist from Helsinki, Finland. I love to travel but I also love Helsinki so much that I don't mind returning home every once in a while. I play basketball (I'm pretty good). I also play the harmonica (I'm pretty awful). I love hiking, sailing, diving, snowboarding and my beautiful wife. I enjoy good books, movies and music (what a surprise) and meeting interesting people. My friends would most likely describe me as social, easygoing, fun and loyal. And maybe a bit stingy. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Pretty much anything goes (indie, rap, folk, punk, new wave...) as long as it's good.
Books: The books I've finished on my current trip have been India: The Road Ahead by Mark Tully, The Song of Ice and Fire saga by George R. R. Martin, The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach and Freedom by Jonathan Franzen.
Movies: Winters bone, No country for old men, Pulp fiction, The man without a past, Das Leben der Anderen and The punk syndrome just to name a few...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last year me and my wife (she's a photographer) wrote an article about the pioneers of surfing in India. India has over 7500 kilometers of coast line but only a handful of surfers. Now an international aid organization is teaching surfing to these extremely poor kids that live in the slums of an south Indian fisher village. The catch is that in order to participate in the surf lessons the kids need to attend school as well. The kids were great. They live in a filthy slum, their parents abuse them, they are devastatingly poor. But they weren't let down by all that and they have trust in a better future. And their excitement while they were surfing was pure joy to watch.
