About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Develop myself in every possible direction. Learn every cool random thing there is to know, get to know every cool random person there is to know.

ABOUT ME

I'll ask some of them for themselves. To be updated.

*UPDATE*
Daan (roommate):
I love that dude, he's always there when you need him, you can rely on him. You can really talk with him, superficially as well as more profound conversations and his twisted mind is unique and the funniest thing ever.

*UPDATE*
Emma (friend): I'd say Joost is a very honest, interesting and cool guy. He's always in for a beer or two, a nice conversation and a laugh.

Thijs (roommate): He's okay.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some grand staying in New Orleans, New York and Australia!

Some grand hosting in Amsterdam!

Interests

No matter what I do in a day, I'll be listening to music at least 3-4 hours a day if I'm not playing it myself on guitar, piano or drums. Just any kind of music, my interest range is pretty broad. The other thing that keeps me ticking is sport. Again, I've been doing a whole lot of sports over the years, but recently started boxing and kickboxing, which is so much fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a whole lot of films, but I thoroughly enjoy anything Tarantino ever made.
My main interest lies in music. There's literally hardly a genre I don't appreciate and listen a lot to. Just not any pop stuff. Favourite artists include Arctic Monkeys, Mayer Hawthorne, Gorillaz, Franz Ferdinand, A Tribe Called Quest and that list goes on and on. Lots of electronic music too though!
I read mostly English literature, but not as much as I'd like to. Favourite book right now would be Factfulness by Hans Rosling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I finished my 56km-ultramarathon in South Africa, crossing the line with an incredible diversity of people from all over the world, all being beat beyond imagination. Amazing scenery and people of Cape Town all around me, cheering for all of us. Absolutely beautiful.

While travelling through Java, at one point, me and two friends we're traversing through a jungle surrounding a volcano for hours, until all of a sudden we were in the middle of a sea of tea terraces, for as far as the eye reached. Nobody really there, but us. And that's just one of the many breathtaking scenery-moments we've experienced in Indonesia.
