About Me

So what about me!
My roots are in Helsinki city but I spent most of my childhood summers in our cottage 200 km from Helsinki so both nature and city exploring is really close to my heart.
In everything I do, I try to avoid the rush and hectic lifestyle that seems to be taking over the world .
Music has become my lifelong passion in many areas. I love playing, making and teaching music. Therefore I'm lucky to study and work at the same time with the most beautiful and talented people in Finland with same interests. At the moment the music theatre is one of my biggest passions and I'm currently working 8 months of the year with youngsters to make an original music theatre piece.
In new cities I always wish to get out from the tourist zone and blend in with the local culture. People can always tell better stories and help find more interesting places than Lonely planet-books etc.
I like to exercise by jogging, swimming and going to the gym, but also lay still and watch a season per day on Netflix if there is time. :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling, exploring and making sweet memories on the road is my ideal of a holiday. I've been going around Europe for example Germany, Portugal, England, Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy. My latest conquest was Vietnam where I fell in love with the peaceful mindset of local life.
On the road I have always stayed in hostels or with a friend (or sleeping in the park X) ) wich gives an opportunity to meet new instresting and lovely people. Couchsurging is new scene for me, but I wish I can continue this tradition of ''my house is your house''.
Locals always know the best party and chill out spots of the area!

Interests

I've been fishing from the day I was born. My father is a passionate fisherman and there is lots of sweet spots both at the sea and in famous Finnish lakes.
Fishing for me is more like meditation than a sport. We always have had very humble boat and equipments, but thats all you need if you have the view of the sunset and a drink in your hand.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh man where to start...
I've never been very loyal to any genre or artist but maybe here is my atm. and alltime favorites.
Music: My favorite music theatre composers would be the classic ones. Sondheim and Lloyd-Webber but I also love the modern material such as Dear Evan Hanses, Wicked, You're a Good man Charlie Brown.
Rock/heavt music all time favorite are Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Death, Opeth, the Strokes
Pop: Jon Bellion, Vampire Weekend, Two Door Cinema Club, Rubik,
Funk/soul: Tower of power, Vulfpeck

Favorite movies possible everything from Quentin Tarantino, Stand by me, Lords of dogtown.

Books: Harry Potter is all you need ;D
Also criminal/detectice books such as Agatha Christies books.
Yuval Noah Haharis new books such as Sapiens and Homo Deus are very pleasant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a difficult one... I have propably realized the amazing things only long after they have happened.
Maybe thing I'm most proud of is composing and conducting a 1,5 hours musical for 50 actrors just for fun. It took a whole year so thats a one thing :D
Also stage diving in my own concert is something I recommend for everyone.
Also laying in a hammock for a whole day.
Sorry thats 3...

Teach, Learn, Share

I have always been a bit restless soul and staying still has been hard. There's nothing wrong in doing lots of things but once your life is all about deadlines and responsibilities, it just turns to shit even if you are doing the things you love.
I've tried to learn to meditate, get rid of multitasking and say ''no'' when the time is right.
We may have only one life and there is no point of living it just to run throug it. Traveling is one my cures for this ''stopping in the moment'' (what a cliche X) ).
Taking a breath and meeting the new people and culture and the moment. Every moment counts and you will never get a single day back if you've lost it. That's why I want to enjoy all the good and all the bad things in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a few nice drinking games for the starters :D
Having fun doens't necessarily mean drinking to me, but it's fun thing to do in a new places and with local drinks and people.
I can teach you Finnish songs and I wish to learn one from you too.
I enjou gigs, concerts and gallerys. The smaller the better.
I also play FIFA and Fortnite if you're up for it :D Only with PS tho.
