I'm writing this sitting in my office cubicle counting down the days before I set off on a year-long adventure around Europe, Central America and North America. Starting from May 2015 I'll be travelling Europe for three months and plan on visiting as many friends and getting around to as many festivals as possible. After Europe, I'm settling down in Vancouver with my girlfriend and some friends to learn Spanish at UBC and start a working holiday for about a year where I hope to see as much of Canada and the west coast as possible.

My first surfing experience down the West Coast of the USA in 2014 was such a blast that I want to pay it forward and host some awesome people when I settle in at Vancouver. My mate Bob and myself set off from Vancouver and stayed in Portland with the super hospitable Devidas and the free-spirited Andreas in Seattle. Both of these surfing experiences showed me how surfing can bring people together to explore new places and form connections. Based on this great experience, I will be hosting fellow travellers in my share-house in Vancouver once we get set up.

Music - anything and everything. I've got very eclectic taste when it comes to music. From the Stones and Zeppelin to Fat Freddy's Drop and the Cat Empire I love anything that tells a story or gets people dancing.

Books - Shantaram, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire and Keith Richards' 'Life'

Movies - Good Will Hunting, Lord of the Rings, The Intouchables, Reservoir Dogs and Birdman
