About Me

Hello friend(s)!

A little bit about me: I grew up in a small town in rural Illinois. I have two loving parents and three awesome brothers who still live close to home. After attending and graduating college in Bloomington, IL, I took a leap of faith and moved to San Francisco to take a design internship for the summer. I had no connections on the West Coast and had never traveled further west than the Mississippi River. My life exploded in the best way possible and five years later, I still live and work in San Francisco and consider it a second home.

The experience above helps explain why I'm here on Couchsurfing! I truly believe that by making ourselves vulnerable and opening ourselves up to meeting new people, to learning and experiencing new things, we are capable of living much richer and more fulfilling lives. I am currently looking to surf but hope to someday give back to the community by hosting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be in between jobs this summer and I'm planning to spend several weeks traveling through the Pacific Northwest before making my way across the country to Minnesota.

I'm envisioning a healthy mixture of camping, hostels, and Couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books

On my playlists right now:
Jamie xx, Van Morrison, Leon Bridges, Sylvan Esso, Fleetwood Mac, Ta-Ku, Ben Howard, Florence & the Machine

Most memorable book I've read recently:
Once A Runner, by John L. Parker Jr.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran my first full marathon along Highway 1 in Big Sur. Simultaneously one of the most beautiful and most painful experiences of my life!

I hiked Half Dome in Yosemite in the middle of the night with a few good friends. We had the top of the rock all to ourselves when the sun came up – hands down best sunrise of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I work professionally as a graphic designer, and prior to that I considered myself an artist. Always down to teach or share my art and design knowledge with anyone who is interested, or simply spend some time painting or making fun stuff with new friends!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good beer or coffee! I can also cook pretty well and am always more than happy to whip up a meal in exchange for a couch to crash on.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Mexico
