I am an 18 year old girl from Fife in East Scotland.
I have wanted to travel the world for many years now but could never find the time/courage to do it.I believe that everyone should at least attempt to travel the world as life is so finite and it could all be over tomorrow.
As a total history nerd i am keen to learn about the cultures and histories of as many countries as i can.

Eventually i would love to travel on to Asia,USA,South America,Africa,Australia and New Zealand.Trying out WWOOFING is another bucket list goal of mine,i come from a long line of farmers and find farms so interesting.

As i said before life is finite and i believe everyone should do what they love before we run out of time and see the world before things are gone,everything can change in the blink of an eye.

I am a very quiet person but when I get settled and calm down a bit can become very talkative and up for almost anything!.

Hope to take a lot of pictures of my travels and many pictures with hosts to make a giant travel scrapbook when I return to Scotland!

I plan to start travelling in June 2019 as that gives me over a year to save,plan and manage my anxiety disorder so that when I do travel I can travel for as long as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing as it is the best way to immerse yourself in a country and learn from the locals.Who would know better about Languages,attractions and cuisine than locals?
It is also an amazing way to meet people from all over the world and make new friends.

Staying with a local would save a lot of money and is less of a hassle than Hostels,many travellers recommend Hostels but i tend to get overwhelmed by crowds and would rather stay with a single person or small group of people/family.

Making new friends and meeting new exciting people is another big reason I am on CS.I want to get to know people from around the world,people's life stories are always so immersive and interesting.
Sharing meals with someone and learning from them would be such a rewarding and unique experience.
Since I am still really young I feel that staying with people that have traveled the world and had so many different experiences could be useful in my own life,you can learn a lot from others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a massive part of my life,i love all music from the 1920s-now and I collect vinyl records.
I am currently studying sound engineering at my local college as i hope to one day combine my love of history and music by doing the audio tour sounds for museums or do the sound design on historical movies.
Pearl Jam are my all time favorite band and have been for the last 10 years,i have been to see them twice and owe everything to them.

Other than music my biggest interest is History,particularly The Second World War so most of the Tv and Films i watch have something to with that,although i do have a soft spot for sitcoms like Friends and Wes Anderson films.

Bookwise i absolutely adore the beat generation,On The Road by Jack Kerouac completely changed my life as i am sure it has done to almost everyone who has read it.Neal Cassady is such a fascinating person and the poems of Allen Ginsberg never get old.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't done many amazing things yet but i do have a very long and growing bucket list and cant wait to start my life and start travelling

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a lot of experience with children,i was the DJ at my local youth club for 2 months and done face painting at some of their events.
Coming from a large family i have a lot of younger cousins so i am usually looking after 2+ children during family visits.

I am more than happy to bring shortbread and trinkets from my home in Scotland to share with hosts so that they can have a little piece of another country in their home.
Food,Time,anything in my bag that you need to borrow will not be a problem.
I can cook very well as i have been cooking since age 11 and dont mind sharing any recipes with hosts.
